This past Sunday evening, my lovely friend Teri and I braved the ridiculous humidity to attend The Bride’s Market at Twilight. Boy, it was worth it! This little treasure of an event is held in Milton (Brisbane, Australia) and showcases around 40-something talented local wedding vendors.
As I am still ‘new’ (but old at the same time) to Brisbane and certainly to the wedding scene here, I had no idea what to expect at the market. I was blown away by how well-run and simply beautiful the evening was. We got a drink upon arrival (when the options include sparkling wine, of course, we chose that) and slowly meandered through wedding-planning heaven – lit by twinkly fairy lights. We were serenaded by a live musician while we chatted to friendly stall holders including event stylists, stationery designers, florists, venue hire places, hair and makeup artists, photographers, caterers and the list goes on. We also got a free copy of the fabulous White Magazine – score!
We saw SO many cool options for brides-to-be and grooms-to-be and I was super impressed with just how much our local wedding industry has to offer. Brisbane, you are growing into such a beauty.
To couples who want a more laid-back entry point into your planning process, I would highly recommend checking out future events at The Bride’s Market. This is a perfect way to start to envisage your big day and to actually get to have a great conversation with experienced professionals, without it all being too overwhelming. I had an absolutely fantastic time AND I got to sip bubbles and eat amazing gelato. What bliss!
