I wanted to share my top five favourite elements from this fun night – some on-trend tips, amazing vendors and ideas for your big day.
1. Your very own gelato truck!
You may or may not know this about me already, but I have a massive sweet tooth. So, when I realised that Dolce Ice Creamery’s cute gelato truck was actually available for HIRE, I lost my mind. Actually no, that was after I tried the salted caramel gelato. It was creamy, cold goodness on a hot afternoon. Brisbanites, can you imagine what a hit this would be at a spring/summer wedding?! Come to think of it, I can eat ice cream in any weather really…
2. Laser-cut wooden name signs and metallic cutlery.
The Other Bridesmaid (wedding planners and stylists) had a rad table setting that I just adored. It was simple, modern and adorned with fresh white blooms, greenery and different candles. What I liked best were the laser-cut name signs – serving both as (obviously) a place card AND a unique favour for your guests. I must also make mention of the gold metallic cutlery – this totally gave the table setting a funky and shiny edge. Love.
3. Grazing Table
Okay, there is a definite food theme going on here. Apologies. Trust me on this though, Scumdiddliumptious Catering’s ‘grazing table’ would knock the socks off your family and friends! It was filled with delicious nibbles, dips, fruit, fresh bread, meat and cheeses and decorated beautifully with flowers. Honestly, it had me salivating on the spot. What a perfect (and show-stopping) addition to your cocktail hour or your reception.
4. Glamour Van
Girls, what could be cooler than having your very own ‘glamour van’ turn up for your wedding day, hen’s day or bridal shower?! Not much, I think. Lawdy Miss Claudy provides just that. This beautiful pale yellow vintage caravan comes with an experienced hair and makeup team AND champagne. Perfect!
5. Cake and art rolled into one.
If you are an avid reader of My Something Blue, you will know by now that cake is my number one weakness. So, of course, I had to check out the amazing wedding cakes at this event and Holly Eloise Cakes did not disappoint. She had daintily decorated cupcakes, as well as masterpiece layered cakes. Personal favourite – the blue marbled and metallic cake with a hot pink flower as the ‘cherry on top’.
I am sitting here half-thinking that I need to throw a grand event just to hire these incredible vendors… Shhhhh! Don’t tell my husband. I hope these ideas have left you inspired (and not too hungry). Thank you again to The Bride’s Market. Can’t wait till the next one.
